Affinity announced that its novel precision-targeted paclitaxel analog candidate, QHL-236 (Legutaxel for injection), has been approved for clinical trials in Australia for the treatment of patients with solid tumors. This approval lays the foundation for the company’s global clinical development and provides flexibility in clinical development options.
Legutaxel is a novel precision-targeted taxane drug. Its pharmacological activity is inactivated in normal tissues and blood circulation, and the active drug is only concentrated and released at tumor sites, thereby significantly reducing chemotherapy-related toxicities and enhancing anti-tumor efficacy. Meanwhile, owing to its precision-targeted characteristics, it is non-toxic to the immune system and circulating immune cells, making it suitable for combination with immunotherapy in the treatment of various advanced solid tumors.
